EnviroKlean’s Midland expansion boosts EK One™ output by 50% as the Permian pivots to recycled water
26 Jan 2026

A quiet revolution is rippling through the Permian Basin, and it is not driven by rigs or record output. It is about water, the most overlooked yet increasingly decisive factor in the region’s energy future. As produced-water volumes soar and regulators tighten their lens, water management is shifting from a background task to a core element of operational strategy.
On October 7, 2025, EnviroKlean broke ground on a major expansion of its chemical manufacturing site in Midland, Texas. The project, slated for completion in early 2026, will boost production of the company’s EK One™ carbon-based chemistry line by 50%, a move aimed at meeting surging demand for produced-water treatment solutions.
The expansion goes beyond simply scaling output. EnviroKlean plans to add new blending units, introduce secondary chemistries, and construct bulk off-loading facilities that support ISO and tanker shipments. These upgrades will allow the company to move beyond its current tote-based distribution, strengthening logistics for a basin that increasingly prizes efficiency.
EnviroKlean credited rapid growth and deepening partnerships, particularly with Guide Water Solutions and WT Oil & Gas, for accelerating its timeline. Executives also hinted at a larger follow-on project that would extend EK One production even further once the initial phase is complete.
At the same time, new technologies are reshaping how operators think about recycling. In January 2026, WT Oil & Gas and EnviroKlean jointly unveiled the Zero Solids Recycle® system, designed to remove solids and minimize sludge handling while enabling large-scale water reuse for completions.
Together, these developments mark a turning point for the Permian. The next wave of advantage will not come solely from geology or scale, but from marrying chemistry innovation with regional manufacturing, smarter logistics, and a commitment to water reuse that redefines what sustainable growth looks like in the oil patch.
